Select Fashion Night Spring/Summer 2017

This summer, the cancellation of Toronto Fashion Week gave the fashion industry a scare. Many thought this was the end of the platform for many designers and fashion lovers. But instead, the cancellation of Toronto Fashion Week has led to many fashion events in Toronto. For example, now there a large focus on Startup Fashion Week, TFI Buyers Events as well as this has open doors for new groups to join hands to create a new platform such as City Moguls, Fashion CAN and much more. In this post, I will be focusing on a particular event called Select Fashion Night.

Select Fashion Night operated on October 12 for one evening as a fashion platform for designers with runway room shows, presentations and they included a pop up shop located at Muzik Event Centre. Before, I start ranting about how amazing the runway presentation was; let me first mention about the venue… it was just perfect from white sofas to a unique style of runway that gave the audience a close up on each of the pieces.

 Lesley Hampton (@lesley_hampton)
Lesley Hampton is a Toronto-based fashion label that focuses on producing exquisite wearable art eveningwear- giving the wearer a sense of confidence and strength. Amplified by what the Lesley Hampton woman puts onto her body, the brand aims to exemplify the inner confidence that can occur within a being.

 “Le Select” Emerging Designers showcase ft. Vandal Goods, Neya Couture and Sensuelle Et Chic
VANDAL illustrates a hybrid of street-aesthetics and classic tailoring. An outerwear specialist, the label draws influence from multiple disciplines of fashion; fabricating statement pieces with a premise that is unmistakably fun-to-wear and exciting. Conceived in 2014, VANDAL serves as an alter-ego; a medium in which unorthodox styling, pattern design and colours can be relentlessly experimented upon—creations that communicate a sense cool, boldness cool and intrigue.

Neya Couture
Neya Couture creates embellished eveningwear pieces for each beautiful piece in the collection perfectly pairs high performance fabrics and elegant designs to give an elegant and timeless addition to any wardrobe. The collection acts as a visual memoir of the designer Auneya’s life through an intense color palette echoing her peculiarity of character. This label is also identified by exquisite embellishments on a unique blend of fabrics and cuts.
Sensuelle Et Chic
Sensuelle Et Chic is a Canadian lingerie and swimwear company based in Toronto. With a focus on making lingerie, loungewear and swimwear comfortable, chic and accessible for all women, Sensuelle Et Chic is dedicated to filling a gap in the market, one that left room for a truly fashion oriented company to step in.
Seasonz Canada has a design philosophy that creates South Asian silhouettes, which embodies femininity, enchantment, and a twist of Indo-Western clothing.

Candace Daniela is a Canadian Outerwear label established in 2014. Designed and manufactured in Toronto using luxury and eco-friendly fabrics like alpaca wool, organic cottons and vegan leather, designer Candace Daniela creates bold outerwear pieces for both men and women across North America. Her collections have been shown at Toronto Fashion Week, Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, and Mississauga Fashion Week.

LAMARQUE focuses on achieving the essence of Contemporary Style with each design.
Every style in the collection is inspired by a man or woman whose style is branded as Effortlessly Chic. The trademark look of LAMARQUE is staple leather designs made sophisticated each season by mixing in new inspirations and innovations. House of Knot, previously SS&Co. launched as an accessories brand in 2010 specializing fashion forward knitwear. In 2015 the brand launched its first line of ready to wear fashions. Today the highly texturized abstract knits have gone beyond function and have become the foundation of the brand, with each season pushing the boundaries of knitwear and transforming the fashion landscape.
